This conversation connects manifestation with the energy you carry after the vision board moment. You will learn how thoughts spark feelings, feelings spark matching thoughts, and how past disappointment shapes what you expect next. Lisa shares the replay-after-the-conversation example, why complaint can become a home base, and how to practice a believable next step with meditation and daily awareness.
If you are working on manifestation, mindset, and intentionally creating a life you love, start with one loop.

Abraham Hicks and Joe Dispenza: How They Changed My Life

Learning how Abraham Hicks and Joe Dispenza influenced my manifestation journey and helped me navigate life changes.
I often get asked how I bridge the gap between different teachers. In this ...episode, I share how I moved from simply asking for what I want to embodying the future before it arrives. When I decided to move to Florida in my RV, I had to rely on these law of attraction tools to handle the uncertainty of leaving my old life in Iowa behind.
This is my personal experience with using a practical mindset shift to stay grounded when things feel heavy. I walk through how I learned to stop just thinking about my goals and start living in the emotional state of having already achieved them. It is a guide for your own path of personal growth, whether you are facing a big move or just feeling stuck in your daily routine.
Ask and It Is Given opened the door, and Dr. Joe Dispenza gave me language for why the practice worked.
In this episode of In The Driver's Seat, I share how my understanding grew from Abraham Hicks to Dr. Joe Dispenza. I walk through what I took from each teacher, how my daily manifestation practice shifted, and what I do differently now to live with more purpose and passion.
You will hear how I moved from asking and aligning toward embodying and rehearsing the future, with practical law of attraction tools for mindset, manifestation, and personal growth you can apply in your own life.
This is my personal learning journey shared in my own words. Any science mentioned reflects Dr. Joe's explanations as I understood them.

Why Being Present is the Secret to Everything You Want

I won two Gulf Coast Jam wristbands from a parking lot giveaway after picturing my name called once. This manifestation story shows how manifestation works when feeling good comes first.
In ...this episode of In the Driver's Seat, I share what happened in 2023, years after my spiritual awakening journey began. I walk through the good news I was celebrating, the simple visualization of hearing my name over the speaker, entering the drawing, staying for the moment, and the live TV interview that followed. I break down law of attraction as a lifestyle, not a performance, including emotional awareness, simple imagination, and inspired action you can practice in ordinary days.
This reflects my empowerment coaching work helping people notice thoughts, feelings, and patterns to intentionally create a life they love.
Try this: pick one small good moment today, enjoy it fully for one minute, then picture one clear moment that would show your desire arriving.

When your kids leave home, you miss more than you expected: their energy, their friends, and the everyday moments in between. In this episode, Lisa shares the gradual empty nest ...transition, the question that changed everything — "What does Lisa want now?" — and 4 questions to help you discover what you want next.
After both of her kids eventually landed in Oklahoma, Lisa noticed the house had changed and so had her everyday life. This conversation is for anyone navigating life after kids leave home. Whether it's one child off to college or a quiet house that feels unfamiliar.
You'll hear:
* Why you may miss your kids' friends and the community around school as much as the daily routine
* How everyday access changes and how to stay connected without constant updates
* What helped Lisa adjust gradually, and how siblings and partners adjust too
* The question her boss asked right after her daughter graduated that opened a new chapter
* 4 questions to sort through the transition: What changed most? What am I proud of? What am I grieving? What still feels true about who I am?

Purpose isn't one big answer you're supposed to find someday. It's something you can live in the next hour.
After listening to Gabby Bernstein and reflecting on Dolly Parton's wisdom — ...find out who you are and do it on purpose — I'm taking the purpose conversation somewhere more grounded. Not in the future, not at a distance, but in how you spend your attention today.
In this episode you'll hear:
How the "one impressive purpose" story keeps us stuck
The 4 quiet signals a thread is alive right now — time, energy, choosing it unprompted, people bringing it to you
Why micro-purpose counts — a purposeful hour, not a life overhaul
My thread: Two vacation days, gas to Ames, volunteering at the Special Olympics Summer Games at Jack Trice Stadium — cycling, long jump, high-fives, and a heart full for weeks after
A simple one-thread experiment to try this week without adding another project

Live Like Dolly: What Her Life Teaches Us About Loving Better

On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, we said goodbye to Dolly Parton (1946-2026). How did she make so many different people feel safe, seen, and loved in a world that feels ...so divided?
In this episode of In The Driver's Seat, I share what Dolly's life teaches us about intentional living, boundaries, compassion, and grace.
We start with her 2023 Person to Person conversation with Norah O'Donnell on CBS: “We're supposed to love ourselves and love one another” and trace it through three lessons you can practice this week.

IN THIS EPISODE:
• The boundary that became a blessing: saying no to Elvis keeping 50% of "I Will Always Love You" publishing — and why Whitney Houston's 1992 Bodyguard version meant the door stayed open
• The compassion that grew from a hard story: Imagination Library, started in 1995 in Sevier County, Tennessee to honor her father Robert Lee Parton, now 270 million books gifted — plus her $1M gift to Vanderbilt for Moderna's COVID-19 research in 2020
• The grace to let people be themselves: "I ain't that good a Christian to think I am so good to judge people," writing "Jolene" and "I Will Always Love You" the same day in 1973, tapping "9 to 5" on her acrylic nails, and losing her own look-alike contest on Santa Monica Boulevard — and what "Find out who you are and do it on purpose" means for you

Making life decisions that seem reckless can sometimes lead to unexpected stability. See how one choice secured a sanctuary for six years.
This video explores the contrast between taking a calculated ...risk for personal independence versus the exhaustion of forcing a relationship to work. It is for anyone currently stuck in a cycle of trying to fix things that are fundamentally broken, whether that involves your living situation or your personal connections.
I share the story of how a seemingly impulsive decision led to a $650 rental home that provided safety when I had none. By examining these moments, you will understand when it is time to stop pouring energy into a lost cause and start prioritizing your own sanctuary. Making life decisions often requires letting go of what you think you need to find what actually serves you.
If you have ever struggled with the pressure of personal growth story arcs or felt stuck in a stagnant situation, this reflection offers a different perspective. We discuss the reality of reckless choices versus the cost of staying put.

Why Being Seen Feels Uncomfortable (And What to Do About It)
Have you ever felt deeply connected, and somehow still unknown? Being ...
Have you ever felt deeply connected, and somehow still unknown? Being _looked at_ is surface level. Being _seen_ is different: it's when someone understands the parts of you that actually ...matter. And that can feel incredibly vulnerable.
In this episode of In the Driver's Seat, we unpack why being seen feels so uncomfortable — and what to do about it:
• The difference between being looked at and being seen
• The "will I still belong?" question underneath the fear
• Why your brain protects you from an old threat that's no longer there
• How self-editing quietly runs your decisions
• Why "just stop caring what people think" isn't the answer
• The rearview mirror habit — and putting your eyes back on the road
You can care what people think _without_ handing them the steering wheel. That's self-trust.

Why Gen X Says 'I've Got It' (And Why It's Hurting Us)
Are you stuck in the Gen X mindset of always saying I have got it? ...
Are you stuck in the Gen X mindset of always saying I have got it? Many of us were raised to believe that independence means doing everything alone. This automatic ...response of refusing assistance often feels like strength, but it can isolate us from the support we truly need.
I'm Gen X, and I spent decades thinking asking for help meant I was weak.
In this discussion, I break down why we default to I have got it and how to shift toward a healthier balance of capability and connection. You will learn to recognize when your independence is serving you and when it is creating an unnecessary barrier to your own well-being. We examine the roots of this behavior so you can start choosing when to accept help without feeling like you are losing your autonomy.
If you find yourself carrying things you don't need to carry alone, or if "I've got it" has become your automatic answer, this conversation is for you.
Subscribe for weekly personal growth breakdowns, and comment below: what is one area of your life where you struggle to let others help you?
We're diving into:
* Why Gen X learned self-reliance over everything
* The difference between _choosing_ independence and _automatic_ independence
* The hidden agreement that comes from always being the strong one
* How asking for help is actually a sign of strength (not weakness)
* What changed for me when I finally let someone stand beside me
Key moments in this episode:
* 0:26 — The windshield wiper story
* 3:20 — What the latchkey generation learned
* 8:32 — Healthy independence vs. automatic independence
* 11:34 — The RV moment that changed everything
* 14:07 — How to know the difference
As always, I'd love to hear from you: Where has "I've got it" become automatic in your life, even when part of you could use support? Drop your thoughts in the comments — you might be surprised how many of us are learning this same thing right now.

That sentence you keep repeating — "I always attract the wrong people," "I can never get ahead," "I'm just not lucky" — started as something true. But somewhere along the ...way, it stopped describing what happened and started deciding what happens next._
In this episode of In the Driver's Seat, we unpack how limiting beliefs form, why your brain is wired to collect evidence for the story you keep telling, and how one simple question — "What else is also true?" — can course-correct your entire direction. If you've been working with law of attraction or manifestation and still feel stuck, this is the missing piece: the sentence you didn't realize was steering your car.
Use a personal narrative to reshape your behavior. Learn how adjusting the stories you tell yourself creates a clear path to goals.
Most people view their stories as simple recaps of past events. This discussion explores the science of shifting that perspective so your narrative becomes a tool for predicting and shaping future outcomes. If you struggle with inconsistent habits or unclear goals, this approach offers a practical way to realign your daily actions with your desired future.
We break down the specific method of using a future self journal to test these adjustments. By questioning whether your current internal dialogue describes what has happened or dictates what will happen, you can make small, immediate changes to your perception. This process helps you stop repeating old patterns and start directing your energy toward the results you actually want.
